A Leader In Tenant Representation Since 1989

Pittsburgh Regional Alliance and Pennsylvania Economic Development Association to Sponsor ITRA Global Symposium in London

CHICAGO—(July 27, 2012)—ITRA Global, one of the largest real estate organizations devoted to the

representation of corporate tenants and occupiers of commercial real estate worldwide, has announced that the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance (PRA) and the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association (PEDA) will sponsor the ITRA Global 2012 Corporate Real Estate Symposium on September 12, 2012 at the Park Plaza Victoria London, 239 Vauxhall Bridge Road, in London. Richard Kilner, Managing Director of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania European Investment Office, will also be a featured panelist.

Carrie Holstead, Chairman of the ITRA Global Board of Directors and President and CEO of Pittsburgh-based ITRA / Carrie S. Holstead Real Estate Consultants, Inc., says the event will be a tremendous resource for company executives who must navigate a significantly changed marketplace.

In today’s challenging economy, it is more important than ever that companies are well educated and informed prior to taking steps to expand their business operations to and within North America and Latin America,” she explains. “Our Symposium will provide European company executives with the crucial resources and information they need to ensure their efforts are successful.”

Dewitt  Peart,  President  of  PRA,  says  the  London  Symposium  provides  his  economic  development agency,  recognized  as  one  of  the  best  in  the  United  States,  with  a  unique  and  highly  desirable opportunity to interact with the corporate executives who make relocation and expansion decisions.

“It is important to Pittsburgh’s continued economic growth that we establish and maintain relationships with company executives and site selectors in the U.S. and around the world so we can explain the many advantages of living and working in the Pittsburgh area,” Peart says. “Sponsoring this Symposium allows us to accomplish that and so much more.”

“In less than two years, Governor Tom Corbett has made significant reforms to the tax burden on business, eliminated regulatory barriers and expanded opportunities to encourage new industry sectors to call Pennsylvania home,” says Richard Kliner, Pennsylvania’s Authorized International Representative to the United Kingdom. “This pro-business approach, coupled with the largest network of overseas offices of any U.S. state for foreign companies, make Pennsylvania an ideal location for international companies looking to enter the U.S. market.”

“The symposium presents a great opportunity for Pennsylvania to network with decision makers from all over the world.”

Divided into two sessions, “Doing Business in the Americas” is a premier all-day event featuring top corporate executives and noted economic development officials from around the world. One session  will include Pennsylvania’s Richard Kilner as well as economic development executives from government agencies in the Americas, who will address issues ranging from labor availability and costs, to transportation capabilities, taxation and much more for companies moving into their regions, along with other facility and location factors. The other panel, comprised of top global corporate executives, will help European companies understand how to increase their competitive advantage and profits with corporate real estate and obtain a better understanding of facility availability, build-to-suit and leasing vs. ownership options in the Americas today.
